    Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted through April 1 for the fall semester, with an application fee of $40. Applications may be submitted after the deadline with an additional $15 late fee. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts and test scores. Applications can be submitted on-line.

    Admitted students have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and an ACT score of 19 or SAT score of 900. Students should have completed four years of English, three years of mathematics, three years of science, one year of American history, two years of the same foreign language, and two additional years of electives. It is strongly recommended that students take mathematics at least up to trigonometry.

    Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, 3 letters of recommendation, transcripts, and test scores. A graduate application has an application fee of $55.

    Incoming freshmen applying for admission must have a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale), and ACT score of 19 or an SAT score of 900, and must have graduated from an accredited high school. Incoming applicants must also have completed the core course requirements in their high school coursework. USU uses an Admissions Index as an objective measurement to predict academic success. The Index is a grid with GPA along the horizontal axis and SAT or ACT score along the vertical axis, and appropriate scores assigned to each point on the grid. The minimum Index allowed at USU is 90 (where the applicant’s GPA is at least 2.5 and the SAT is 900 or ACT is 19.
