Utah State University is an NCAA Division I school, with basketball, cross-country, football, golf, tennis, and track & field for men and basketball, cross-country, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Aggies. The teams will generally be in the Western Athletic Conferences as of the fall of 20065; the football team plays in the Sun Belt Conference, the gymnastics team is in the Western Gymnastics Conference, and indoor track and field teams play in the Mountain Pacific States Federation.

Sports facilities include a basketball arena, a baseball field, a track stadium, and a field house. There is also an indoor training facility with a full-sized football field for practices.

Utah Sate University teams have won numerous conference and league championships.

There are also seventeen different intramural sports, including badminton, swimming, and table tennis.

Utah State competes in the NCAA’s Big West conference, except in the sports of football (Sunbelt Conference), indoor track (Western Athletic Conference), and women’s gymnastics (Western Gymnastics Conference). They have claimed three national championships: volleyball (1978) and softball (1980 and 1981). USU has also won 36 Big West championships, including seven in women’s track, six in men’s basketball and men’s track, and five in football. In the most recent academic year the women’s gymnastics team finished first in their conference, and the men’s basketball, cross country, and indoor track teams finished second in their conferences. USU has ranked first in the Big West Academic Conference for student athlete academic three out of the last four years. Student athlete’s cumulative GPA is over 3.00, and the student athlete graduation rate is 53%.
